Connecting to Epic first time, insights?

We are a new startup with a developer that does not have experience working with EMR’s. We’ve reached out to Epic but haven’t been getting clear responses. We have some meetings set up to help bridge the gap but what things should we know / prepare for as noobies to be successful. Thank you for any insight
